I guess I should be a bit more diligent in determining when the patching takes place for most people. Looks like nowadays it’s happening more regularly on Tuesday rather than the good ol’ Wednesday. My mistake… So regardless of the day of the week, help fight security holes and patch the systems regularly.

Patch Wednesday!?! What’s that?

Patch Wednesday, what can a person say about it. It’s a much needed, and in most cases often overlooked part of a typical system administrators job. I work with a number of system administrators on a daily basis as part of my consulting. It’s interesting to note that the type of operating system in use often has a profound effect on the priority of patching it, especially in a heterogeneous or “mixed OS” network.
